The Safety of visitors to the 2010 IISEF is of paramount importance to the Host Committee. This page is designed to provide visitors with basic information that will enable you to have a safe and productive visit to the 2010 IISEF. H1N1Understanding and preparing for the spread of a virus is very important in reducing the risk of disease spread. The Centers for Disease Control has prepared the following document for your information. Personal hygiene is critical for protecting yourself and others. Please utilize the HAND SANITATION stations throughout the convention center especially when entering the areas where food is being served. Visitors are encouraged to observe the following measures to reduce the spread of influenza and other contagious diseases:
If you have a fever or rash, DO NOT come to the convention center. Instead, call the Safety/Security Office and you will be given instructions on what to do next. TrafficThe convention center is located in a busy downtown neighborhood. Please take extra precautions when crossing street, Light Rail (train) track and in front of parking garages. Obey all traffic signs, Police Officers and Fair volunteers who will be clearly marked for this event. Night LifeThough ranked among the safest cities in the nation, San Jose is not without its dangers. When traveling at night, always use the buddy system and travel with 2 or more people. When using ATMs, take care to protect your password. Do not carry large sums of cash around with you. Utilize safe and safety deposit boxes in your hotel rooms to store excess cash and your passport.
