Intel ISEF 2010

 

The ISEF 2010 Host Committee is looking for over 500 volunteers across a spectrum of activities throughout the 6 day event. While volunteer opportunities are available for the entire week, opportunities are also available from 4 hours, 1 day, 2 days and/or the entire week (see below). Assemblers/Collators (assembling guests registration bags).

Requirements:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to follow instructions, assemble materials and check for accuracy
  • Able to take a leadership role a plus

This is a per fair activity that begins on Thursday afternoon prior to the fair and could continue into Friday or until the project is completed. 40 volunteers are need for this project.

Courier, Delivery & Information runners

Requirements

  • Able to follow instructions
  • Able to pickup and deliver materials throughout the San Jose Convention Center as well as other venues by hand or using carts, hand trucks, etc.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50 lbs.) if necessary.

These activities occur throughout the entire week of the fair and vary by day. We can work with you to find shifts and days that best fit your available time. 25 volunteers needed

First Aid

Requirements:

  • Certification in both "CPR" and "First Aid Training" a must
  • Ability to work in a variety of busy and close environments
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations

Volunteers will cover the entire convention center as well as all related venues. Volunteers will be asked to work a 4 hour minimum shift but can work the entire if they wish. 25 volunteers needed.

Registration

Requirements:

  • Computer skills helpful
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Good communication skills

Volunteers will work in the registration area registering students, adults and judges. 50 volunteers needed.

General Volunteers (security, crowd control, office assistance, etc.)

Requirements

  • Ability to receive and clear detailed information and directions
  • Knowledgeable of the Bay area and particularly San Jose
  • Able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Knowledgeable of hand tools
  • Friendly, outgoing personality preferred
  • Computer knowledge helpful
  • Ability to speak and understand a foreign language a plus (especially Spanish)
  • Ability to work with people from different ethic and educational backgrounds

Volunteers are needed across all venues including, but limited to; San Jose & San Francisco airports, Hotels and the San Jose Convention Center. 400 volunteers needed.

Shipping and Receiving

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret written communications
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (25 - 50 lbs.), if necessary
  • Knowledge of freight requirements for USPS, UPS. FedEx, helpful but not necessary.

Volunteers are needed at two different times during the fair; first on Friday & Saturday prior to the fair opening and again on Friday at the conclusion of the fair. 25 volunteers needed.

Catering

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for a long periods of time
  • Restrurant experience very helpful, but not necessary
  • Able to follow and give instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work with a wide variety of people and skills

Volunteers are needed across mutiple venues and able to volunteer in 4 hour minuim shifts. 50 volunteers needed.
